PROBLEM
Opportunity to create something valuable before the EURO 2024.
With EURO 2024 on the horizon, we identified a unique opportunity to create a feature that would engage users and enhance their betting experience. To capitalize on this, I led two collaborative workshops that focused on finding the key problems and solutions.

ROLE
Product Designer
ACTIVITIES
Problem Discovery Workshop, Solution Discovery Workshop, Competitor analysis, Mock-ups
DISCOVER
I led and facilitated a problem mapping discovery workshop together with a cross-functional group of people. To identify key problems in our current product I asked them to frame the statement with “As a user I want to…”.

DEFINE
I then asked them to rank them based on the groups perception of the impact vs the effort. I facilitated a follow-up solution discovery workshop. Which then allowed the team to dot-vote on their preferred problem category. The winning category with the most votes was “Bet Suggestion”, which also was ordered as high impact, small effort.

DEVELOP
After voting the groups were asked to come up with as many variations to solve the problems as possible. Thinking about the problems main pain points, what it is, how it should work and where and when it should be used. Next, they had the opportunity to present their ideas to the bigger group.

PROTOYPE
As part of the design validation process, I conducted competitor benchmarking to ensure our product met industry standards and user expectations. Through this analysis, I identified strategic opportunities for differentiation based on our generated solutions. I prioritised the proposed solutions by creating a feasibility ranking, from most to least achievable, within the constraints of our upcoming timeline. The most feasible solution, with the working name “Real Trending Acca Component”, was handed over to a delivery designer with the supporting documentation. This idea was based on the problem statement “As a user I want to be able to get inspiration and be able to back the same bet as others”.

DELIVER
Through iterative design reviews, I collaborated closely with designers and stakeholders to refine the visuals, ensuring seamless integration with the existing design system and different brands identity. While also accounting for various use cases and potential edge cases. The final designs of the “Popular Combos” component were handed over to developers using Figma.
